Joan and William Hartwig Endowed Scholarship Fund

Joan and William (Bill) Hartwig met at Detroit Lutheran High School and are both graduates of Michigan State University. They were married on July 7, 1956. He retired as a Division Administrator for the MDOT Bureau of Transportation Planning. Joan retired from Lansing Community College where she served as a Counselor and Post-Secondary Articulation Coordinator.

Joan and William Hartwig Endowed Scholarship was established to support LCC students who are pursuing their first degree, enrolled in the Transfer Program, and intend to transfer to another Michigan College or University.

Qualifications

• Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in LCC’s Transfer Program
• Recipient must carry a minimum of 12 credits
• Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Recipients must reside within the LCC district
• Recipients must be pursuing their first degree
• Financial need will be considered
