Allan Maar Endowed Scholarship

Our friend and colleague, Professor Allan Maar, passed away in 2016 and we’re still thinking of all the things he taught us about learning and laughter and supporting students. Allan believed that education was empowering for students at all levels of development. Allan wrote the grant that established a Reading Clinic at LCC that has since grown into the current Center for Transitional Learning, serving students in Reading, Writing, GED preparation, English as a Second Language, and Student Development course work.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in developmental or GED preparatory classes
• Enroll in a minimum of 6 credits
• Maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
• Financial need will be considered.
