James L. Reutter Business & Technology Careers Scholarship

Jim Reutter’s commitment to Lansing Community College and the Foundation goes back a long way. He served as the first chair of the LCC Foundation at its inception in 1981.

Jim was born and raised in Lansing and graduated from Easter High School and then went on to Albion to study business and economics. After graduating from college, he went to work for the Michigan Education Association. By 1959, Jim’s father was ready to retire from the family business and Jim took over the family business, Lansing Ice and Fuel.

The James L. Reutter Business & Technology Careers Scholarship was established in 2000 to support students in Business programs or Technical Careers at Lansing Community College.

Qualifications

• Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in a Business or Technology Careers Program
• Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Recipients must reside within the LCC district
• Financial need will be considered
