Ted Harrison Memorial Endowment

The Lieutenant Ted Harrison Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Ted Harrison and his legacy as a brave, common-sense, and compassionate leader who embodied service with pride and excellence.

Ted was a first-generation college graduate who received his start at Lansing Community College.

Ted passed away on April 26, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. The Harrison family established this scholarship to support first-generation college students pursuing technical careers at Lansing Community College. The recipient of this scholarship will be recognized at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Awards Ceremony.

Qualifications

• Recipients should have a minimum G.P.A of 2.0.
• Recipients shall be enrolled in a Technical Careers program of study at Lansing Community College.
• Recipients shall be 1 st 1st-generation college students, meaning no parent or grandparent has earned a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Scholarships shall be awarded for tuition, fees, and expenses related to educational needs to be successful in the classroom.
• Recipients must make every effort to attend the annual Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Awards Ceremony the year they are selected for the award.
