Byron G. (Class of 1927) & Arlene Dryer (Class of 1929) Robson Memorial Scholarship
This endowment was established to honor Byron G. and Arlene Dryer Robson, parents of Shirley Robson Hanna. Arlene Robson was a life-long educator, teaching in the Laingsburg, DeWitt and Bath School Districts. Her father farmed the "old Dryer homestead where Arlene lived from the time she was in 7th grade through high school. Byron and Arlene were both students at Bath High School in 1927 and were present at the bombing of the high school. Byron was the valedictorian and class president of the Class of 1927, but never had the opportunity to attend graduation due to the attack on the school. The Robsons married and raised their family in Bath. Arlene Robson later moved to East Lansing, but the family continues to have deep roots in Bath Township.
Shirley Robson Hanna believes in the importance of education and has established this scholarship to assist graduates of Bath High School with the educational expenses of attending Lansing Community College.
