Ngere Abdul Wali Memorial Scholarship
The Ngere Abdul Wali Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Ngere Abdul Wali whose business, AfroVisions, provided people with the chance to re-educate and push aside the societal view of racial stereotypes through an Afrocentric collection of videotapes airing a glimpse of African Americans as people.
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in the African-American History program
- Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Preference will be given to students whose academic plan includes to transfer to a 4-year institution to study African American History
- Students enrolled in or who have completed any of the following will be given secondary preference: HIST 150, HIST 214, SOCL 260, ENGL 260
