Jane Aldrich Scholarship
The Lansing Community College (LCC) Alumni Association selected Jane Aldrich as the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2017. Jane has been a tireless cheerleader for the greater Lansing community, supporting many good causes, people, and charities. While she grew up in Ann Arbor and is a proud graduate of Alma College, Jane has a special affection for Lansing Community College and the role it played in helping her get a start in broadcast media. She has served on the LCC Foundation Board of Directors for nine years and has volunteered with numerous community organizations.
Jane started anchoring and reporting at WLNS TV in 1985 and has spent more than three decades bringing the news to mid-Michigan residents. She is an Emmy nominated, an award-winning anchor and upon retiring in 2017, was one of the most recognized and trusted journalists in the region.
She established the Jane Aldrich Scholarship to support students who are enrolled in the Lansing Community College Department of Communications, Media and the Arts.
