Carlos Ramon Galeana Memorial Scholarship
The Carlos Ramon Galeana Memorial Scholarship, established in 2021, honors Carlos Ramon Galeana’s memory. This scholarship was established by his daughter Mari, a former local area school counselor.
Mr. Galeana overcame great obstacles during his childhood, and with persistence, determination, and a never-give-up attitude he became a successful businessman, working for over 40 years as a general agent for AAA in Livonia, Michigan. As a result of that success, he believed in the virtues of generosity and justice, and the importance of “paying it forward!”
He was most vocal with his children and then subsequent seven grandchildren about the importance of post-secondary education after high school. As a first-generation Latinx- American he knew how important education was in changing the lives of individuals and communities. He supported education throughout his life which will continue through this scholarship.
