Peter MacFadden Scholarship
This scholarship was created to honor and celebrate the life of Peter B. MacFadden, by assisting students who not only have financial need but who have had to overcome some kind of obstacle or obstacles to pursue their education. Such obstacles might include such things as an unusual degree of challenges in family life during childhood or adolescence; earning a G.E.D.; lack of a residence; being the first person in the family to pursue higher education; and various other substantial challenges that a student might have encountered.
Students in LCC’s ACCESS (formerly TRIO program) or MSU’s King-Chavez-Parks “GEAR UP” program were especially important to Dr. MacFadden.
This scholarship is open to all students, with preference given to students who have earned a G.E.D. Preference can also be given to students pursuing a degree in the following fields or programs: Building Construction; Communication; Education; Paralegal; World Language; and ACCESS (formerly TRIO).
