Kary Hackbarth Memorial Scholarship

Kary Hackbarth was a longtime teacher at New Covenant Christian School in Lansing, as well as at Lansing Community College. She shared her love of math with her students, and her nieces and nephew. Her eyes would light up with the opportunity to solve complex math problems, and one could truly feel her passion for numbers. The Kary Hackbarth Memorial Scholarship has been created to provide financial assistance for Lansing Community College students in the Mathematics program.

Qualifications

• Recipients will be taking math at LCC intending to transfer to a 4-year institution with an interest in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
• Recipients will maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
• Recipients shall be residents of the State of Michigan
• Preference will be given to graduates of New Covenant Christian School in Lansing
• Financial need will be considered
