Bertha Winkels Nursing Endowment Fund

Theresa and Frederick Junger have dedicated their professional careers to education. Both were elementary educators in the Durand Public Schools for 36 years and have a deep belief in the power of education to change and enrich the lives of all people.

This endowment has been created to honor the memory of Bertha Winkels, Terry Junger’s mother who was a nurse in the 1940s. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to nursing students allowing them to excel in their educational pursuits.

Qualifications

• Recipients must be enrolled in the Nursing program full-time at LCC
• Preference will be given to applicants who live in Shiawassee County
• Financial need will be considered
