Stanley S. Chase Scholarship

Dr. Stanley Chase is the CEO of S/Y Chase Consulting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the Administrative Pastor Of Kingdom Ministries. Dr. Chase is consistently engaged with his community through serving on the Board of Directors of Child and Family Charities, Member and Past President of the Exchange Club Lansing, and Past District President of the Exchange Club of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana!

Dr. Chase held the office of Vice President at Michigan’s 3rd largest community college, Lansing Community College (LCC). Dr. Chase joined LCC in 1997. During his tenure at Lansing Community College, Dr. Chase has held many positions such as; Director of Student Services-West; Assistant Dean; Director of Student Judicial Affairs, etc. Prior to his employment with LCC, DR. Chase was a faculty member at Grand Valley State University, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and performed independent consulting through his business, Chase Consulting Corporation. Other positions held by Dr. Chase include K-12 superintendent (10 years), elementary principal and elementary teacher.

Dr. Chase earned his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Bowie State University located in Maryland. He received a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. He also received his Ph.D. in Educational Administration at Michigan State University in 2004.

Dr. Chase is also a licensed ordained Pastor!

Dr. Chase has received many honors and awards including being named to Who’s Who in Black America on two occasions. He is an accomplished presenter; having presented at American Association of Community Colleges, League for Innovation, AACRAO, NISOD, and Michigan Community College Student Services Association.

Qualifications

  • Recipients shall be residents of the LCC district
  • Recipients shall maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Recipients shall be non-traditional students who are returning to higher education after a gap in their education
  • Preference shall be given to applicants with families or are the head of single-parent households
  • Financial need will be considered
