Joyce L. Hegan Memorial Scholarship

Joyce L. Hegan made many sacrifices for her children. When the children were young, Joyce was divorced from her husband. It was then that Joyce decided to go to college. She had helped her former husband with his business for many years, but only had a high school diploma. She struggled to raise four teenagers, work full-time, and continue her education so that she could one day have a career that would sustain the whole family. Her daughter, Cathy Wilhm, established the Joyce L. Hegan Scholarship to honor Joyce’s courage, commitment, and passion to make family a priority. It is Cathy’s hope that the scholarship will help other adults who are struggling improve the quality of life for both themselves and their families.
