Walter and Jennie Horiszny

Walter Horiszny Lansing Walter was born September 12, 1914 and passed away suddenly December 14, 2008. He dedicated 36 years of his life to the City of Lansing Fire Department, rising to Deputy Chief before his retirement in 1974.

Jennie A. Horiszny, born Genevieve Anne Pellpshen July 1, 1919, passed away April 12, 2009. Jennie dedicated her life to the well-being of immediate and extended family and friends.

Walter and Jennie married in June of 1938 and had four children with her; Ron, Al, Ken and Laurie. They also have 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Walter and Jennie Horiszny established the Ukrainian Home Society Scholarship in 2004 to support LCC students from Ukraine and students from Eastern Europe generally.
