Jeff Benson

In 2005 brothers Jeff and Thomas Benson established the Hulon T. Benson, Jr Memorial Scholarship in memory of their father. The scholarship provides financial assistance to minority students entering the field of accounting. Hulon Benson took some accounting classes at the Lansing Business College but spent his life as a construction worker in the Lansing area.

Jeff Benson graduated from Everett High School and then received a degree in accounting from Michigan State University. He and his brother Tom are now both Certified Public Accountants. Jeff served on the LCC Foundation Board of Directors for three terms, serving as Treasurer for the Board for multiple terms. Tom and Jeff chose to establish the Hulon T. Benson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship at LCC because of their close association with the college and their belief in the mission of LCC.
