Friends and Colleagues of Margherita Clark

The Executive Leadership Team of Lansing Community College wishes to recognize the excellence and dedication of Margherita (Margie) Procaccini Clark and her years of service to the College. They also wish to honor and recognize the important role that Margie’s parents, Assunta and Nello Procaccini played in her life, by naming this scholarship in their memory.

Margie Clark served as Dean of the Health and Human Services Division at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan since 2010, and previously directed its Career Ladder Nursing Program beginning in 2001. Board-certified as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, she received her MSN from Michigan State University, her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo, and her RN diploma from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio.

Margie is a passionate advocate for nursing on several levels. She is a member of both the Capital Area Health Alliance and the Capital Area Community Nursing Network, and a founding member of Sparrow Health Partners. She is an active community-wide nursing volunteer in the Lansing area, serving on the Board of Directors for the Cristo Rey Community Center, The Davies Project for Mid-Michigan, and the Kigezi Women and Children Health Initiative. Margie has served on the Michigan Board of Nursing and as a Michigan Health Council Trustee. She was Co-chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Nursing Education (TFNE) for the State of Michigan and also steered the TFNE implementation team. Nationally, she participated in the White House Forum on Military Credentialing and Licensing and was a consultant to the United States Department of Defense on Military Credentialing in 2013. Margie also served as a member of the program review committee for the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation.

In recognition of her exemplary service, leadership, and vision, Margie Clark was presented with the Carol E. Franck Nursing Leadership Award and the Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence in Education and Research. She is the recipient of the 2018 Giving Star Award for the Philanthropic Employee of the Year from Lansing Community College.
