Friends and Colleagues of Lisa Webb Sharpe

Dr. Lisa Webb Sharpe provided leadership, management, and vision to ensure the college had the appropriate operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and staffing systems in place to effectively grow the institution and to ensure financial strength and efficient operations.

She has served as senior vice president of finance, administration, and advancement at LCC since January 2010 and became the Executive Vice President in 2018. Her role expanded to include oversight of Student Affairs. Previously, Webb Sharpe served as director of the State of Michigan’s Department of Management & Budget, deputy chief of staff in the Michigan Governor’s Office, and a cabinet member in the Detroit Mayor’s Office. She has several published articles and serves on the boards of the YMCA, Michigan American Council on Education Women’s Network, and Capital Area United Way.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed her to the Michigan Board of Optometry in July 2019, and to the State Land Bank Authority Board of Directors in Sept. 2019.

Webb Sharpe holds a doctorate in community college leadership from Ferris State University, an MBA from Wayne State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. She is a champion for all students with a special passion for students with differing abilities who have overcome challenges and what others would see as barriers.

The Lisa Webb Sharpe Scholarship was created by Dr. Webb Sharpe’s friends and colleagues at LCC to honor her commitment to LCC students and her passion for the College. The scholarship provides financial assistance to LCC students, with an emphasis on students of differing abilities.

Scholarships
