Dr. Dineshchandra Shah and Dr. Jyotsna Shah
Dr. Dineshchandra Shah wishes to establish this endowment in memory of his mother Savita, for whom he has great respect and admiration for the opportunities that she helped to provide for him. He wishes to show his deep love and appreciation for his wife Jyotsna. He also honors his mother-in-law Kapila. Drs. Dineshchandra and Jyotsna Shah are pleased to support educational opportunities in the Greater Lansing Community. They show their appreciation by their desire to give back to the community through support of higher education and Lansing Community College in-district students who need financial aid.
Dr. Dineshchandra Shah moved to Lansing, MI in 1980, and as a cardiologist, he saved and improved many lives, practicing for over 30 years. Dinesh was highly revered and loved by his patients. He was a respected and active member of the local Indian community as well as the broader Lansing community. Sahaj Marg meditation was an important part of his life and he traveled far and wide to fulfill and grow on his spiritual journey. He encouraged and supported his daughters to pursue higher education and created fellowships for those who didn’t have such access. Dinesh loved spending time with his grandkids, traveling around the country and the world, and playing tennis and golf. He was known for his deep generosity, resilience, resourcefulness, quirky sense of humor, rigorous work ethic, and integrity. In his life, he overcame remarkable obstacles to create a meaningful career and rich home life filled with many friends and family.
Jyotsna, Shah, MD, is a pediatrician practicing in the Lansing Area. She received her MD degree from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, India. The Shah family has lived in the Okemos for 32 years where they have raised their children and have been active in the community.
