The Tom Kangas Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Tom Kangas, son of Sheriff Wayne Kangas and his wife Chris. Tom died at the age of 30. He was never able to participate in activities like other children due to his physical limitations. That didn’t stop him from being concerned about other people and their happiness, safety and welfare.
